What is the sacred Navajo name of the black obsidian arrowhead found in ruins?
I make beaded & wire wrap jewelry & precious stones. Yesterday a couple asked if I had any arrowheads. As a matter of fact, I found a black obsidian arrowhead at a Antique Sale on 10/01/06. This couple became very excited & said that what I had in my posession had great spirtual significance in the Navajo community.
Black arrowheads sell now from 10 dollars to 50 dollars.Black obsidian was quite common among Navahos. It came primarily from Dibe’ Nitsaa, Obsidian Mountain. It represented insight and truth.
